Ogden, Utah- The first week of the cross country season is in the books as Andrea Condie of Idaho and Peter Lomong of Northern Arizona pick up Big Sky Athlete of the Week honors.

Andrea Condie led Idaho to victory in the Clash of the Inland Northwest. The junior, facing off against Gonzaga and conference foes Eastern Washington and Montana, ran a 14:11.6 in the 4K to win her first collegiate race.

This is the first Athlete of the Week honor for Condie in her career and the first Athlete of the Week in cross country for Idaho since 2014. The Vandals will return to the course on Sept. 16 in a dual meet versus Gonzaga.

Peter Lomong set the pace for Northern Arizona as the Lumberjacks won the George Kyte Classic on their home course. The senior was the top individual finisher in the meet with a time of 23:02.4 in the 4.5 mile race. NAU took the top five places in the meet to finish with a perfect score of 15.

This is the first Athlete of the Week honor for Lomong in his career and the 18th consecutive season for NAU to have at least one student-athlete honored as AOTW.  Northern Arizona has the week off before returning to competition on Sept. 15 in the Dave Murray Invitational.
