OGDEN, Utah (January 24, 2017) – Idaho’s Mikayla Ferenz could already be described as a sophomore sensation in #BigSkyWBB.

After all, she helped Idaho to a Big Sky title in her first season with the team, and has already captured #BigSkyWBB weekly honors this week. She even helped lead Idaho to its first weekly sweep of the conference season, as the Vandals earned road wins over both Southern Utah and Northern Arizona.

For her role in Idaho’s success, Ferenz earned #BigSkyWBB weekly honors for the second time this season.

Ferenz propelled Idaho to its first Big Sky sweep of the season last week, netting two come-from-behind wins at Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. The sophomore guard averaged 28.5 points, six rebounds and six assists per game.

The Walla Walla, Wash., native, opened the week with 16 points at Southern Utah. She led Idaho with a career-high seven assists as the Vandals recovered from a 13-point deficit to win 85-68.

She went 9-for-10 from three-point distance, tying the school record for most three-point shots in a game.
