OGDEN, Utah (December 27, 2016) – Preparing for pre-holiday games, while preparing for conference call, is no easy feat.
However, a couple of #BigSkyWBB teams ended their non-conference preparation with a flourish, rising strong in the final games before the holiday break.
One team, Southern Utah, ended its preseason on a two-game winning streak, picking up a pair of road wins over Big West opponents. For her play in a 77-71 win over Cal State Northridge, Thunderbirds forward Jessica Richardson earned #BigSkyWBB weekly honors.
Richardson had her second double-double of the season against CSU Northridge Wednesday, shooting 10-of-17 from the floor, for a career-high 24 points and 10 rebounds. The Thunderbirds will have a 10-day layoff, between their final non-conference game and their conference opener on Saturday, against Northern Arizona.
Other nominees included: Mikayla Ferenz, Idaho; Riley Nordgaard, Montana State; Lexi Klabo, North Dakota; and Deeshyra Thomas, Weber State.
