OGDEN, Utah (November 7, 2016) – Sacramento State’s Randy Dedini was named the 2016 Big Sky Conference soccer coach of the year in voting conducted by the league’s coaches at the close of the regular season.

Dedini led the Hornets to an 8-7-4 record over all and a 6-2-2 mark in Big Sky play. His squad finished second in the conference standings and earned the No. 2 seed at last week’s Big Sky Conference tournament. He is 37-33-13 in Big Sky games in his career.

The 2016 Sacramento State team set new program records for points in a Big Sky regular season (20) and conference wins (6). The Hornets also ended the regular season unbeaten (4-0-1) in Big Sky road games for just the second time in program history. The team's two regular season Big Sky losses were the fewest since 2009 and tied for the second-fewest conference losses in a season in program history.

This is Dedini’s third Big Sky coaching honor, winning previously in 2010 and 2007.
