Poertner, Kebba Earn Weekly Soccer Honors

OGDEN, Utah (October 6, 2015) – The Big Sky Conference has announced its soccer players of the week for the week ending October 4, 2015. Idaho goalkeeper, Amanda Poertner was named this week’s Defensive Player of the Week while North Dakota midfielder Kaylee Kebba earned this week’s offensive honor.
 
Kebba, a freshman from Auburn, Wash., earned her first career weekly honor after leading UND to a 3-2 win over Idaho State on Sunday. The freshman picked up three points with an assist and the game-wining goal against the Bengals. Kebba posted an assist on UND’s opening goal in the 17th minute then blasted a shot into the back of the net in the 27th minute. The goal was her second of the season. In Friday’s overtime loss to Weber State, she posted one shot.
 
Poertner picked up her second career Big Sky weekly honor after leading the Vandals to two shutout wins over the weekend. Poertner earned clean sheets in Friday’s 1-0 win over Portland State and repeated the effort in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Sacramento State. Poertner pulled down a career-high eight saves in Sunday’s win. The freshman from Fullerton, Calif., has played over 300 minutes without allowing a goal. She leads the Big Sky with six shutouts on the season.
