The 2016 Big Sky Conference Basketball Championships will take place March 7 through 12 at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nev. The Reno Events Center is located a block away from the teams’ host hotels, The Eldorado and Silver Legacy Resort. The REC is a short walk away from all the dining and shopping amenities that downtown Reno has to offer.
“We’re very excited for the upcoming Big Sky Championships in Reno,” said Big Sky Deputy Commissioner Ron Loghry. “Our fans, student-athletes and coaches will have a great experience. The venue, and the wonderful tri-property complex will help give our fans a true championship experience.”
The new Big Sky Championships format features all 12 Big Sky members in both the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. The top four seeds will receive byes to the quarterfinal round.
The winners of the semifinal games will play in the championship games on March 12, with the winners advancing to their respective NCAA Tournaments.
