OGDEN, Utah (March 18, 2014) – With 10 weeks of competition completed, the Weber State men and the Northern Colorado women top the Big Sky Tennis standings.
The Weber State men went 2-0 over the weekend, earning two wins over Big Sky teams. The Wildcats defeated Eastern Washington 5-2, and Portland State 4-3. The Northern Arizona men also went 2-0 in Big Sky play after defeating Montana State 4-0 and North Dakota 5-0. The Sacramento State men earned a 7-0 conference win over Idaho State, but fell to New Mexico State, 5-2. The Northern Colorado men defeated Southern Utah, 7-0 in a conference match.
The Sacramento State women went 3-0 over the weekend earning conference wins over Southern Utah, Weber State and Idaho State. The Hornets have won 108 straight matches against Big Sky conference opponents. The Portland State women earned a 5-2 win over SUU. In its only match of the weekend, the Northern Colorado women earned a 4-3 conference win over Southern Utah. The Northern Arizona women defeated North Dakota in a conference match, 6-1.
The Montana State men went 1-1 in conference with a 7-0 win over Southern Utah and a 4-0 loss to Northern Arizona. The Southern Utah men lost to Montana State and Northern Colorado. The North Dakota men went 0-3 over the weekend after losing to Ball State, Northern Arizona and UNLV. The Idaho State men went 0-2 over the weekend after falling to No. 19 Boise State and to conference opponent, Sacramento State.
The Montana women went 1-1 over the weekend after defeating Seattle 6-1 and falling to Nevada 5-2. The Southern Utah women went 0-4 after losing to San Jose State, Portland State, Sacramento State and Northern Colorado. In its only match of the weekend, the Eastern Washington women lost to No. 47 Washington State, 6-1. The Weber State women went 0-3 after losing to Academy of Art, Sonoma State and Sacramento State.
