Three Big Sky Conference track and field athletes competed at the NCAA Championships today in Eugene, Ore.
The meet will conclude on Saturday starting at 1:30 p.m. Mountain with field events and running events will begin at 3:05 p.m. Mountain.
Six athlete will compete on Saturday. Northern Arizona’s Diego Estrada (5,000 meters), NAU’s Futsum Zienasellassie (5,000 meters), NAU Edgar Panford (triple jump), Sacramento State’s Jesse Elvrom (javelin), NAU’s Lauren Laszczak (high jump), and Weber State’s Amber Henry (steeplechase).
On Friday, Portland State’s Joenisha Vinson finished 13th in the heptathlon with 5,563 points. She was 13th in the long jump, 16th in the javelin and 19th in the 800 meters.
On the men’s side, Northern Colorado’s Trevor Evanson finished 21st in the high jump with a mark of 6-8 3/4. NAU’s Deante Kemper was 24th in the high jump with a mark of 6-8 3/4.
