Last Week’s Recap….
 
OGDEN, Utah (March 12, 2013) – For the fifth straight week, the Sacramento State softball team tops the Big Sky standings with a 12-6 record. 
 
Sacramento State went 4-1 over the weekend at the Mustang Classic in San Luis Obispo, Calif.  On Friday, the Hornets defeated Rutgers 4-1 and Nevada 9-7.  On Saturday the Hornets faced host Cal Poly and won 2-0 and then defeated Northern Illinois 13-5 in six innings.  On Sunday, the Hornets lost to Cal Poly 2-1.
 
North Dakota is in Kissimmee, Fla., in the Rebel Games Tournament.  UND went 2-2 over the weekend with after defeating Detroit-Mercyhurst 5-4 in nine innings and defeating Lehigh 5-3.  UND lost to Creighton 9-0 and Akron 8-3.
 
Idaho State and Weber State traveled to Long Beach, Calif., for the Long Beach State Tournament.  The Bengals went 1-3 and the Wildcats went 1-4.  The Bengals lost to South Alabama 2-1, Utah 9-3 and CS Fullerton 5-1.  ISU defeated Charleston Southern 8-5.  The Wildcats lost to UC Santa Barbara 4-1 and 4-2, CS Fullerton 5-0 in six innings, North Dakota State 3-0.   WSU defeated UNLV 7-3. Each team had a game canceled due to rain.
 
Portland State traveled to Honolulu, Hawi’i, for the University of Hawaii tournament.  The Vikings went 1-2 over the weekend with a defeat over East Carolina 9-0 in 5 innings. PSU’s two loses were to No. 21 Hawaii, 7-0 and 8-3 in six innings.  Portland State was scheduled to play two more games that were canceled due to inclement weather.
 
Southern Utah was in Riverside, Calif., over the weekend.  SUU went 1-4 with losses coming from Buffalo 6-3, IUPUI 5-1 and UC Riverside 9-1 in 5 innings and 2-1.  The Thunderbirds defeated IUPUI 3-1 in eight innings.
 
On Wednesday, Northern Colorado played in state rival Colorado State and lost 10-0 in five innings. The Bears then traveled to Norman, Okla., for Oklahoma’s tournament.  The Bears went 0-4 after losing to Drake 5-2 and 14-1 in 5 innings, and losing to No. 2 Oklahoma 14-0 in five innings and 10-0 in five.
