This Week in the Big Sky
The NCAA selection committee announced Monday afternoon that Weber State (10-4-5) will travel to Provo, Utah, to take on BYU (14-4-1).  The match is set for Friday, Nov. 15 with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. Mountain and will be televised by BYUtv.

Championship Recap
HILLSBORO, Ore. - For the first time since 2005, Weber State University’s women’s soccer team has won the Big Sky Championship.
 
No. 3 seed Weber State and No. 1 seed Portland State finished regulation and overtime tied 0-0.  Weber State advanced 3-0 on penalty kicks on Saturday.
 
The entire match between WSU and PSU was a defensive battle.  Each team had its chances to score.  Portland State put six shots on goal to Weber State’s four shots on goal.
 
In the shootout, each team took three shots before Weber State advanced 3-0 on penalty kicks.
 
WSU’s Ryann Waldman, the MVP of the Championship, made two saves in the shootout.  Waldman blocked PSU’s Abbey Bergquist and Cori Bianchini.  Portland State’s Tamia Hasan also missed her shot.  Ryann Waldman made the game-winning save on the third kicker.
 
Weber State’s Stacy Bair, Chansi Crompton and Bailey Eames each made their shots.
 
This is Weber State’s fourth championship, but first since 2005.  This is the third time WSU’s head coach Tim Crompton has led his team to be Big Sky Champions.  The Wildcats were selected fourth in the preseason poll.
