OGDEN, Utah (Jan. 31, 2012) – After three weeks of competition, the Montana women and the Eastern Washington men top the Big Sky tennis standings. 

The Montana women ended the weekend 2-1 after beating Lewis-Clark State College and Idaho, but losing to Washington State.  Montana State and Portland State women also took on Lewis-Clark State College and Washington State.  Each school beat Lewis-Clark State College, but all fell 7-0 to Washington State.  Portland State also lost 7-0 to Idaho.

The Sacramento State women dropped both matches to ranked teams, No. 16 USC and No. 45 Texas Tech.  The Eastern Washington women faced Seattle, losing 4-3.  The Northern Colorado women lost 5-2 to UTEP.

The Eastern Washington men ended the week 2-0 after beating in-state opponents Whitman and Whitworth. The Montana men went 1-1 beating Idaho State, but losing to the University of Utah.  The Idaho State men also faced Weber State, with the Wildcats winning 5-2.

The Northern Arizona men traveled to Riverside, Calif., to compete against Vanguard and UC Riverside.  The Lumberjacks lost to Vanguard 6-1, but bounced back and beat UC Riverside 5-2.  The Sacramento State men lost to No. 54 Arizona and San Francisco.
