Football Recap - Week 2
Idaho State, Montana, Montana State and Northern Arizona all earned victories on Saturday, the first victories of the 2011 season for all four teams.
Idaho State opened its home slate with a 44-7 victory over Division II Western State as Mike Kramer garnered his first win as the Bengals' coach.
No. 15 Montana returned to Washington-Grizzly Stadium and topped future Big Sky member Cal Poly 37-23. UM's Jabin Sambrano returned the opening kick 96 yards for a touchdown.
No. 6 Montana State played in front of a record crowd at expanded Bobcat Stadium and didn't dissapoint. The Bobcats topped UC Davis, another future Big Sky member, 38-14 in front of 18,487.
Northern Arizona rolled to a 58-13 win over Division II Fort Lewis in the first game at the renovated Walkup Skydome.
Top-ranked Eastern Washington dropped a 30-17 decision to the University of South Dakota. No. 12 Sacramento State fell at future Big Sky foe Southern Utah 35-14.
Northern Colorado and Weber State both lost to FBS teams. The Bears fell at Colorado State 33-14, while Weber State lost to Utah State 54-17 in a game that was tied 17-17 at the half.
