League Announces Televised Football Games

OGDEN, UTAH (August 22, 2011) - The Big Sky Conference once again announced the largest television package of a Football Championship Subdivision conference on Monday, a lineup that includes 23 of the 36 conference games.
In all, at least 40 regular-season games featuring Big Sky Conference teams will be televised in 2011.
“We’re excited once again to offer so many of our games on television,’’ said Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton. “Our television package is unmatched at the Football Championship Subdivision level.’’
Altitude Sports & Entertainment continues its long-standing relationship with the Big Sky by televising four conference clashes. Altitude’s Big Sky coverage begins on Sept. 24 when Weber State meets Northern Colorado in Greeley. Defending national champion Eastern Washington welcomes Altitude to “The Inferno” on Oct. 1 for a contest against Weber State. On Nov. 22, Montana State takes on Northern Colorado. On Nov. 5, Montana State meets Weber State.
Altitude is available on many cable outlets throughout Montana, Utah, Colorado and Idaho. It is also available on Dish Network channel 410 and DirecTV channel 681.
Max Media of Montana will televise eight of Montana State’s games, including five conference affairs. Max Media’s Montana State coverage begins on Sept. 1 when the Bobcats open the season at Utah. Max Media will air the feed from KJZZ in Utah. Max Media’s own coverage starts when the Bobcats play host to future Big Sky football member UC Davis on Sept. 10. Max Media will televise Bobcat conference games against Eastern Washington, Sacramento State, Portland State, Northern Arizona and Idaho State.
Montana’s News Stations will televise 10 or Montana’s 11 regular-season games, including all eight of the Grizzlies’ conference games. Two of Montana’s non-conference games will air on the CW Networks of Montana, including the Sept. 10 game against Cal Poly. Montana’s News Stations will once again bring fans across the Treasure State the annual battle between Montana and Montana State on Nov. 19 from Bozeman.
SWX of Spokane, Wash, will produce and broadcast Eastern Washington’s home conference games against Northern Colorado and Portland State, and also plans to pick up the feeds of the Eagles’ games against Montana and Montana State.
Northern Arizona television will show five Lumberjack games, and those games will also be available on Fox College Sports. The highlight of the Lumberjacks’ schedule is their contest against Eastern Washington on Oct. 8.
Comcast Sports Net Northwest will televise at least two Portland State home games live. The Vikings’ home opener against Southern Oregon, and their conference contest against Northern Arizona will be televised.
omcast Sports Net Northwest might also televise two other Portland State home games, however, those details have not been finalized. Comcast Sports Net Northwest will also televise all four Big Sky games that are part of the Altitude package.
Several non-conference games will also be televised. Northern Colorado will take on Colorado State on the mtn., while Eastern Washington’s opener against Washington will be on Root Sports. KJZZ of Utah is televising Montana State’s opener against Utah. Comcast Sports Net California will televise the Causeway Classic between UC Davis and Sacramento State on Nov. 19. Northern Arizona’s opener against Arizona is on Fox Arizona.
“We are very fortunate to have such strong television partners,’’ said Fullerton. “I thank them all, because without their interest and support, we couldn’t bring our fans, alumni, students and parents this TV exposure.’’
All 11 of Montana and Montana State’s games will be televised in 2011. Northern Arizona and defending national champion Eastern Washington will each appear on TV nine times.
Big Sky fans are also reminded that all football games played in Big Sky stadiums can be viewed for free on the Internet on Big Sky TV.
