Big Sky Conference men’s basketball teams will enjoy an off day on Thanksgiving, but other than that will be extremely busy this week with 21 games on the schedule…Weber State, ranked 11th in this week in the Mid-Major Top 25, travels to the Saint Mary’s Classic in Moraga, Calif., where a matchup against Saint Mary’s looms. Saint Mary’s is ranked ninth in the Mid-Major Poll. First, Weber State will have to get past Jacksonville State on Saturday…Montana State guns for its third straight win as it hosts Seattle on Tuesday. The Bobcats are at Idaho on Saturday, and at San Jose State on Monday…Northern Colorado continues play in the South Padre Invitational. The Bears are at Iowa State on Tuesday, before taking off for Texas, where NC will battle Western Carolina on Friday…Eastern Washington travels to Hawai’i on Tuesday, and returns home Sunday to take on UC Davis…Sacramento State battles rival UC Davis on Tuesday, and welcomes McNeese State to The Nest on Saturday…Northern Arizona takes on Northern New Mexico at home on Tuesday, and is at Loyola-Marymount on Saturday..Montana, winners of three straight, is at North Dakota on Wednesday before returning home for a showdown against Long Beach State in Missoula on Saturday. Long Beach State is ranked eighth in the Mid-Major Poll…Portland State plays in Wyoming’s tournament. The Vikings will battle Wyoming on Friday, Louisiana Tech on Saturday and Maryland-Eastern Shore on Sunday…Idaho State is at home on Wednesday against Loyola-Marymount, and Saturday against Utah State.

WILDCATS ELEVENTH: Weber State jumped eight spots in this week’s Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major top 25 to No. 9 following wins over Utah State and UC Irvine. Weber State. Weber State earned 376 votes. Gonzaga is No. 1, followed by Creighton and Cleveland State. Weber State could face No. 9 Saint Mary’s at the Saint Mary’s Tournament this weekend. Montana will have a chance to earn votes in the poll when the Grizzlies play host to Long Beach State on Saturday. Long Beach State is ranked eighth in the Mid-Major Poll, and upset nationally-ranked Pittsburgh last week. In Weber State’s win over UC Irvine, senior Kyle Bullinger scored 11 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Junior guard Damian Lillard scored a game-high 27 points. Bullinger pulled down 13 rebounds in the win over Utah State. Lillard is averaging a league-best 23 points per game.
SELVIG RETURNS: Montana senior forward/center Derek Selvig returned to the Grizzlies’ lineup on Sunday during a 73-60 road win over San Diego. Selvig missed Montana’s first three games with an ankle injury. Selvig came off the bench and played 23 minutes, scoring eight points with six rebounds and two assists.
Tip-ins: Montana’s Will Cherry scored 24 points with 11 rebounds in the Grizzlies’ 57-52 win over Idaho...Montana State’s Rod Singleton scored 18 points in Montana State’s 74-60 win over Utah of the Pac-12. Big Sky teams went 2-10 against Pac-10 teams last season...Sophomore guard Paul Garnica scored a career-high 22 points in a 79-69 road loss to Northern Iowa...PSU beat Linfield 101-64 on Monday, marking the first time PSU scored 100 points at home since Feb. 22, 2007...PSU freshman G Gary Winston received clearance from the NCAA last week, and played in his first game against Linfield. He scored 13 points with six assists in 22 minutes...Six Idaho State Bengals scored in double figures - including 16 by Andrew Hatchett - in a 93-66 win over Colorado Christian...Eastern Washington led Oregon of the Pac-12 39-34 on Thursday, before falling 73-65. Four EWU starters fouled out in the second half...Sacramento State led Washington State 39-36 at the half on Thursday, but fell 79-68...Junior John Dickson scored 21 points, and Joe Eberhard scored 16 points with 12 rebounds. True freshman Dylan Garrity scored out 12 assists...Stallon Saldivar scored a career-high 17 points and dished out nine assists in NAU’s 103-42 win over Arizona Christian. NAU held a 49-18 rebounding edge. Durrell Norman had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds...Big Sky teams are 12-1 a home and 3-11 on the road so far...Weber State coach Randy Rahe is two victories away from 100 for his career...A crowd of 9,359 witnessed Weber State’s win over Utah State at the Dee Events Center...Weber State’s Scott Bamforth has made 14-of-17 3-pointers (82.4 percent) this season.
