NAU's Christensen Named Player of the Week

OGDEN, Utah (Sept. 6) - Northern Arizona’s Kobi Christensen has been selected as the Big
Sky Conference’s volleyball player of the week for the week of Sept. 6.


Christensen led all players in hitting percentage and kills in each of Northern Arizona’s three
matches and totaled 48 kills on 78 attacks over the weekend. She averaged a .474 hitting percentage
with only 11 errors. She posted 4.80 kills per set with 1.20 digs per set for the tournament
and was tournament MVP.


The junior hit above .500 percentage in two of the three matches last weekend during the 18th
Annual Fiesta Bowl Tournament. Th e Kelowna, B.C., native helped the Lumberjacks to a 3-0
record against Texas A&M, Corpus Christi, Rider and University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.


On Friday, Christensen helped her team to a 3-1 victory over TAMCC hitting a .533 percentage
and averaging 5.0 kills per set.


On Saturday, Northern Arizona swept Rider, going 3-0 with Christensen again averaging 5.0 kps
and a .357 hitting percentage.


Later in the evening, the Lumberjacks swept UMES 3-0 with Christensen posting a .550 hitting
percentage. She also recorded double-doubles with 13 kills and 11 digs.
