Hornets take on USC, UCLA in First Round

The NCAA Division I Tennis Championship pairings were released Tuesday. The Sacramento State men will face No. 9 UCLA, while the women drew the Trojans of University of Southern California.
The Hornet men (17-11) will face the Bruins (14-6) on May 14. If the Hornets win, they will face either Californa or UC Irvine in the second round. The four-team pod will be hosted by UCLA. UCLA is the No. 9 seed in the men's tournament.
The Sacramento State women (19-6) take on USC (13-9) on May 14 as well. With a win over USC, the Hornets would take on either California or Southern University. California will host the four-team pod. The Trojans are seeded 12th.
The Sacramento State men and women each won Big Sky Conference championships last week, earning automatic bids to the championship.
The Hornet women are in the NCAA tournament for the ninth straight season. The Sacramento State men are making their second straight appearance.
Times for the matches will be announced later this week.
