They'll meet again. For the sixth straight season, Sacramento State and Northern Arizona will meet for the Big Sky Conference women's tennis championship.
Both squads came out on top Saturday during the semifinals at the Gold River Raquet Club in Sacramento. Sacramento State is looking for its ninth consecutive championship.
The teams will meet Sunday at 10 a.m. in the championship match. Live scores will be available at www.gohornets.com.
Northern Arizona (13-6) beat Montana 4-2, while the Hornets topped Montana State 4-0. Sacramento State's win over Montana State was its 71st straight over Big Sky opponents.
Sacramento State (18-6) took the doubles point and won the match with three singles victories by No. 2 Rebeca Delgado, No. 4 Clarisse Baca, and No. 5 Aileen Tsan.
Montana State finished its season 8-11.
Northern Arizona took the doubles point by winning at No. 1 and No. 2.
. Montana took its two points in singles from Constance Alexander at the No. 2 position and Orsi Golovics at the No. 3 position, beating their opponents in straight sets. The Lumberjacks beat out the Grizzlies in straight sets in all other positions except the No. 6 position where Northern Arizona's Nicole Perez beat Montana's Cara Lehman at 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1).
