Cheney, Wash. (March 11, 2010) - The fifth-seeded Portland State Vikings beat No. 4 Idaho State 75-61 Wednesday night at Reese Court in a Big Sky Conference women's basketball quarterfinal game.

Portland State (16-14) will take on No. 2 seed Montana (15-13) in the first semifinal on Friday at 3:30 p.m. No. 1 seed Eastern Washington (19-10) meets No. 6 seed Montana State (17-13) in the second semifinal at 6 p.m. Pacific. Both games can be seen for free on Big Sky TV.

Portland State shot 50 percent in the first half and raced out to a 41-30 lead. Portland State was led by Kelly Marchant and Kelli Valentine, who each scored 14 points. Lexi Bishop added 13 points.

Portland State amassed 17 steals, including five from Eryn Jones.

The Vikings, who lost to Montana in last year's championship game, won the game at the free-throw line. PSU made 17-of-21 from the charity stripe. Idaho State made it to the free-throw line 11 times, hitting six.

Idaho State forward Oana Iacovita scored her 1,000th career point in her final collegiate game.  Iacovita, a senior from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, scored  a game-high 22 points. Idaho State, which entered the tournament on a six-game winning streak, finished its season 15-15.
