The race for the 2009-10 Big Sky Conference men's basketball regular-season championship tightened a bit on Friday night as first-place Weber State fell to Montana.
Montana cruised to a 75-61 victory over the Wildcats in Missoula, ending Weber State's five-game winning streak and dropping the Wildcats to 8-2 in league play. Northern Colorado, which didn't play on Friday, is now one game back at 7-3. Montana and Montana State are both two games back in the loss column at 7-4.
Montana State pulled out a 63-60 win over Idaho State in Bozeman.
Portland State improved to 5-5 in conference with a 76-62 road win over Sacramento State.
