2009 USTFCCCA Men's All Academic Team

OGDEN, Utah (July 14, 2009) - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Tuesday the 2009 Men’s Division I Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field All Academic Teams.
The team included 12 Big Sky Conference athletes. The Big 12 Conference led all conferences with 46 selections, with the Pacific-10 Conference following closely with 42 selections. The Mountain West Conference had 28 men’s student-athletes earn All-Academic honors.
Sacramento State’s Ronald Brookins highlighted the list of Big Sky athletes. The sophomore made his NCAA Championship debut in the 110m-hurdles, finishing 24th overall. Weber State’s Jace Nye was also named to the team. At the 2009 Big Sky Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship, Nye was named the Co-Male Track Athlete of the Meet winning the 800 meters and the mile run.
Idaho State, Sacramento State, and Weber State all placed three athletes on the team. Montana State had two, while Montana received one.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or the NCAA Division I Outdoor regional or national qualifying standard in their respective event.
