Big Sky XC Athletes of the Week - Oct. 20th

Ogden, Utah (October 20, 2009) - The Big Sky Conference has announced its Cross Country Athletes of the Week for races ran from October 12th-October 18th. Northern Arizona’s Veronica Pohl was named the women’s Athletes of the Week, while fellow Lumberjack Jordan Chipangama was named men’s Athlete of the Week.

Veronica Pohl placed 16th overall at the NCAA Pre-Nationals, with a time of 21:03. It was her first race since taking the title at the Aztec Invitational back in September. The Lumberjacks finished 14th with 387 points in the powerpacked field.

Jordan Chipangama competed in the 8,000m men’s race at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Invitational this past weekend finishing third overall with a time of 23:47. It was his third-consecutive top-five finish after he won the Aztec Invitational and Cowboy Jamboree races. He helped lead his team to finish third in the blue race with 115 points.
